Many of you know that last year the Loudoun Llama Lovers 4H Club had the wonderful opportunity  to be featured in an article about kids and llamas by Ranger Rick magazine.  The photographer and writers spent several Saturdays with the group at the farm, asking questions, and watching the kids interact with the llamas, in both good ways and not-so-good ways……..

The weather wasn’t exactly cooperating as the day the photographer arrived was cold and drizzly.  Also, llamas that had been performing wonderfully, became very uncooperative while the camera was focused on them!

When the magazine learned that several of the club members were going to participate in their first ever llama show, they decided to include that as well in the article.   At the Old Dominion Gold Cup the cameraman and writer were able to experience a real live show and catch the 4H’ers in action!    The rain didn’t help when the “grooming for the show” photos were being done, but all took it in stride and  finished the day in good form.  The article just came out in the April 2004 issue.
