The name "Graustark" is taken from a series of fictional books written in the late
19th-early 20th centuries.  These were stories of a small, European country whose foundations were
built on honor, courage, and integrity.

"Graustark" means gray fortress, stronghold, or refuge.
Psalm 91:2 states, "I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in Whom I shall trust".
Graustark Farm LLC is built on those same foundations of honor, courage, and integrity, but ours come from putting our trust in the Lord Jesus Christ, and we celebrate the many blessings that He has given us.  Our llamas bring us much joy and we love to share with anyone who is interested!

Graustark Farm LLC is dedicated to producing friendly, well-trained llamas with correct conformation and silky fiber. Our small llama herd comes from a foundation of nationally known bloodlines.  We raise and sell animals suitable for breeding, competition, and companionship.  Multi-animal packages are discounted and financing can be arranged.  Limited breedings to our herd sires can be purchased as well.  We also offer boarding and specialized care for "at risk" crias.

Our animals are individual and special to us and we strive to provide education and support for both enthusiasts and new owners. We handle our crias (babies) from an early age and work with them on a regular basis to increase their trust.  However, we are careful to allow then to be raised in the herd environment to avoid socialization problems as adults.

Our llamas produce soft, silky fiber which we use in various felting, spinning, and weaving projects that we make available for purchase.

Graustark Farm LLC is located in northern Virginia in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Visitors are always welcome by appointment, we love to celebrate and share our joys and blessings. Due to such a great demand on our time- we are now asking for a donation for farm tours.
